DESCRIPTION:Summit Description\nCommunity Health Workers serve as frontline public health workers acting as a trusted bridge between systems\nand local communities. CHWs can assist community members with navigating larger healthcare systems\, connect\nthem to available services and resources in their communities\, and provide health education and outreach to\ncommunity members in need. The goals of the 2022 NC CHW Summit are to raise awareness about CHWs and\nCHW models of care; lift up and celebrate CHWs; support ongoing training and professional development of\nCHWs; and provide an opportunity for networking among CHWs\, CHW supervisors\, CHW employers\, and CHW\nallies. Breakout sessions will fall into three tracks: Skills for CHW Toolbox\, CHW Supervision and Employment\, and\nStructural and Social Drivers of Health. \nTarget Audience\nThe target audience will include Community Health Workers and other healthcare professionals. \nObjectives\nUpon completion of this conference\, participants will be able to:\n• Describe how CHWs navigate communities and health systems as the trusted messengers\n• Discuss and explain the significance of building\, training\, and maintaining the CHWs workforce\n• Identify supportive processes of intersectionality for integrating diversity and awareness of social\ndeterminants
