Our Founder & Leader

I have a close relationship with food, health and environment.

Shemecka McNeil is a health and nutrition leader who blends her deep understanding of food’s role in wellness with a passion for community empowerment. Growing up in rural South Carolina, witnessing preventable health issues in her family inspired her mission to promote nutrition as a cornerstone of health. With over a decade of experience in the health sector, Shemecka founded SLICE 325, a non-profit helping low-income communities create nutritious, affordable meals.

A trained chef, healthcare professional, and hands-on farmer, Shemecka’s unique skill set allows her to address health from multiple angles. As SLICE 325’s Executive Director, her dedication to health equity and sustainable practices makes her a catalyst for change. Recognized as a PSA Grower and Paul Harris Fellow, Shemecka exemplifies leadership rooted in her heritage and commitment to a sustainable, healthier future.

Expanding her impact, Shemecka has ventured into immersive learning, integrating virtual reality (VR) into health, nutrition, and community empowerment initiatives. Through innovative VR experiences, she brings interactive education to life, making nutrition and wellness more accessible and engaging for diverse audiences. Her work in immersive learning continues to bridge gaps in health literacy, ensuring that communities especially those historically marginalized have the tools to make informed, healthier choices.
